Wishon Reservoir
The Salmon Feed 2003
We did brushing on the Rancheria Trail, we had a crew of 6 on a backcountry trip to Crown Valley. We also did maintenance on waterbars... and a wonderful time was had by all...

Sarah, from Huntington Beach gets licked as her friend Diedre looks on laughing.

Norm turning the burgers for a Friday night dinner. Macaroni Salad, Fruit Salad, chips, and Dutch Oven Cherry Cobbler for desert!

Slabs of Coho Salmon cooking slowly over coals

Base camp and kitchen area. Dinner on Saturday night... Salmon!

Norm turning the Thursday-night center-cut pork chops as Francis looks on... in a hypnotic trance...

Julie Ainsworth being served corn-on-the-cobb, salad, rolls, fruit salad, rice pilaf, and of course, salmon!

U.S. Forest Service backcountry ranger Mike Nolen expressing his thanks to the crew just after dinner Saturday night.

Bill Perry plays and (ahem) "sings" as Bev Feskorn holds the flashlight so Bill can see his sheet music.

Sunday morning, 6:45am as Barbara Wingfield pours her coffee (red hat) and the French Toast is cooking on the griddle (far right).
The following shots are of the backcountry trip from August 26 - 30. Special thanks to Allen and Debra Clyde for packing in the supplies for this project. Karl, Sherri, Marty, Lea, Tony and Eric spent 4 days in the US Forest Service cabin at Crown Valley. Except for the shot of Allen and Deb, all photos by Eric Hamilton with his 2mp digital camera.

Allen Clyde and his gorgeous wife Debra who were so kind to pack our backcountry Crown Valley crew in at no charge. Clyde Pack Station located near Wishon and Courtright Reservoirs are one of the best pack outfitters in the Sierra. Their phone number is (559) 298-7397.

Horses being loaded for the pack trip.

On the way to the cabin.

Marty got to ride, the women (Sherri and Lea) hiked. They drew straws, and Marty won. Chivalry is dead...

The Forest Service cabin.

All the comforts of home...

...like I said; all the "comforts" of home; no door, but what a view!

And a shower!
