Example of a water-bar in need of repair.
Water-bars "bar" the water from flowing
down the trail, creating an erosion situation as seen here.
Sediment has accumulated behind the stones allowing water to
flow right over it as if the water-bar was not there at all.
Also, foot traffic had been going around to the left creating
an unwanted "go around" trail.

Digging behind the stones and digging a
trench to route water off the
trail.

Taken from the opposite side as the photo
above, this is the repair. Water is routed off the trail, and
the go-around was blocked. Sediment was removed allowing the
stones to arrest the flow of water down the trail. The erosion
was also repaired.

Ben conked out right before
dinner.

Erik Brown proudly displaying his fish,
dirt coating notwithstanding. These were caught in the stream
directly behind the food tent. How
convenient!
