Courtright 2002

July 10-14 If you have some photos, either e-mail them to me, tarheel@sierratel.com or drop them off at California Outfitters. Work was completed on the Cliff Lake trail that took 3 days to cover 5.5 miles. That's how much work there was to do on this trail. Bear box installation was completed at Trapper Springs campground at Courtright, and at Wishon Lake, Lily Pad campground and the group campground located below the dam. Bear boxes were also installed at the Woodchuck and other trailheads in the Wishon area.

Taking the cover off the saw before use on the Cliff Lake Trail.

PG&E was very kind to make us the loan of their crane to move bear boxes.

A couple of GRITS; that's Girls Raised In The South. God love 'em! Ellen was raised in the same little-bitty town where the webmaster went to military school (Chatham, Virginia; Hargrave Military Academy). Small world! Ellen Chilton and Carolyn Ordway from Fresno, chewing the fat with The Exalted High Bahgwahn from whom all wisdom eminates.

The Cliff Lake Trail Before... ...and After (90 minutes later...)

Shane listening to Mike offer suggestions and observations. See the kid in the grey hat? That's 13-year-old Sam Ede, one of the most impressive kids his age I've had the pleasure of knowing. He worked like a Roman slave and did not complain or shirk one bit. He enthusiastically dived into every project and and displayed poise and maturity well beyond his years. His dad, Mike Ede, is in the blue shirt, far left. Would that all of us had kids that turned out this well.

Sisters Sherri and Terri. Would you believe Sherri is married to...Jerry? I'm afraid to ask what Terri's husband's name is... Gary? Larry? (I'm getting a headache).

What is this woman thinking?

Crew Leader Marshall Allington relaxing as he waits for the rain to start falling, which it did. You know, there are any number of captions one could assign to this scene; Hmmm....
